Modern Philosopher Muses
Reality reduces to one or more equations, more than likely, maybe something as eloquent as E = MC2 or an Euler master- piece, but as Hawking wondered, “ What is it that breathes fire into the equations and makes a universe for them to describe ? . ” One senses a matrix of space–time in which ego goes through the paces, until . These three, or two, or one ; depending on your definitions : space, time, ego, cannot be imagined away in one’s consciousness—does it mean they represent a real, reality base ?
Organisms capture bits of reality from parameters possible for collection by evolving sensory organs ; all being different in their readings, which is to say, all individuals observe different realities ; however, one is tempted to believe there must be some grand, albeit unob-servable, reality outside the phenomenological subjectivity of the brain together with its servant sensory organs . So, what is reality, exactly—outside of the box ?
“ Ideal forms, ” “ empiricism one can kick, ” “ the sensible, ” “ nonsensible ? . ” I side with Kant : it depends on the box in which one finds one’s self in, unless one can escape or look over the edge thereon . Maybe 42, after all .

Operating from Edwards Air Force Base (EDW) in Southern California, Jacqueline “ Jacky ” Cochran soared in a Lockheed F–104G Starfighter to 1,429.297 miles per hour . She is the first woman to fly faster than Mach 2 and set a new Fédération Aéronautique Internationale ( FAI ) World Speed Record .

Civil Rights Action Planned (WASHINGTON, DC)
The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. said yesterday that monumental demonstrations will be launched in Alabama by early June in a substantial assault against segregation in public places and restrictions on Negro voting . He spoke of the likelihood of some type of strong action, but didn’t call it a demonstration in Washington, DC also, this summer ; if what he called efforts to weaken the pending civil rights bill continue . Additionally, King affirmed there is a real possibility of a civil rights march on political conventions of both the Republican and Democratic parties, in July and August respectively, seeking to influence them toward a strong civil rights stand . The reverend emphatically rejected allegations that Communists have infiltrated the civil rights movement . — ( AP )
