Ladies of the Six Triple Eight
Faced segregation out of the gate,
Confronted warehouses full of freight,
Packages stacked, mountains of mail ;
Their motto :   “ No mail, low morale . ”
Backlogs the battalion surveyed
And posted in half the time mislaid,
And when disbanded—no parade .
